Sharp announced their huge 65 inch LCD TV LC-65GE1 in Japan in June.
I got many emails from apparently wealthy I4U Readers asking if this 65 inch beauty will be available outside of Japan. I actually contacting the Sharp PR unit in Japan. Back then they did not know if they will offer the LC-65GE1 outside of Japan.
Today the Nikkei.Net (Subscription) reports that Sharp has decided to sell their 65 inch LCD HDTV in the US (possibly in Europe too) starting in November.
With a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels the Sharp LC-65GE1 is able to view any HD sources. Ideal for the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360.
There is no pricing information available yet. In Japan this large LCD HDTV sells for about $14,800.
The largest LCD TVs Sharp offers currently in the United States are 45 inch models.
