JVC is also active in the professional high definition video camera segment. The company just announced the JVC VICTOR GY-HD100 HDV video camera.
The JVC GY-HD100 HDV features 720p resolution recording, 3.5inch LCD screen, NTSC and PAL support and SD-Card slot.
JVC also introduces a HDV 720p video recorder dubbed BR-HD50.

The JVC GY-HD100 is no toy, but Sony has a HDV camera coming that is aimed at consumers who want to get started with HDV. The Sony HDR-HC1 is the world's smallest HDV video camera. The HDR-HC1 HDV is already shipping from Amazon.com for $1,999.99.
