Samsung shows at the IFA 2005 a low-cost home entertainment system with a 5.1 sound projector.
The Samsung HT-PR16 consists of a DVD player with DivX support, a 5.1 amplifier and a sound projector for surround sound. The whole package is supposed to sell for about $250.
More details on Heise.de (German).The Yamaha Sound Projector is definitly more stylish than the Samsung, but is also more expensive of course. I assume the performance of the Yamaha will also be better than the low-cost Samsung sound projector. I am all for sound projectors, placing speakers around the room is just a pain.
The IFA 2005 starts officially tomorrow.
