Features & Specifications
The Cyber Snipa Dog Tags look like a set of thick military dog tags in a silver brushed aluminum and black rubber setting. One of the dog tags hides a small 1GB flash drive that connects via USB to your PC. A four foot USB extension cable is included to make connecting to your machine easier, but with the portable nature of the Cyber Snipa Dog Tags I don’t see it being of much use.

The other dog tag houses small tools, like a Swiss army knife, that you can use for minor repairs of to your PC. Included tools include a bottle opener with a small Philips head screw driver built on, a flat tip screw driver, and a tiny pair of pliers. On the end of the tool dog tag is also a bright white LED flashlight activated by pressing a button on the bottom of the tag. Both the tool tag and the flash drive tag hang on a metal dog tag chain. My test unit has 1GB of flash storage though 512MB, 2GB, and 4GB capacities are available as well.

The chain that both the tags hang from is large enough that most users will be able to put it on and take it off without having to unclasp the chain. The tags are heavy when worn, the weight is something you will probably get used to but if you are sensitive to weight on your neck it may take a while.

The tools included are very small and suited to working with screws and nuts that are not very tight. Any attempts to use the tools on very tight screws would probably result in damaging the tools.

Testing & Benchmarks
The USB drive is small and has a red LED on the end that glows when plugged in and flashes when data is being written or read from the drive. I used HD Tach to get read and write speeds from the drive. HD Tach showed an average read time of 7.3 MB/s and an average write time of 5.6 MB/s. The random access time was 11.2ms. I also tested the flash drive with Sandra XI’s removable storage benchmark; I will paste the results below:

To compare, the Corsair Flash Voyager GT that I reviewed recently had a Sandra combined index of 9571 operations/minute and an endurance factor of 16.4. On HD Tach the Corsair Flash Voyager GT showed write speed of 20.6MB/s and a read speed of 23MB/s. You can see that the performance of the Cyber Snipa Dog Tags is significantly slower than the Corsair Flash Voyager GT. That is to be expected though, the Corsair drive is one of the faster flash drives available.

Verdict
If you are looking for a flash drive that has a unique style and is easy to carry the Cyber Snipa Dog Tags may be just the thing for you. However, with slow performance on the flash drive and tools that have a questionable lifespan be sure the looks offset the performance you are getting.
