Samsung announces the most efficient Display driver IC (DDI) with 1026 channels today.
For example Samsung's 1026 channel Source Driver IC (S6CR014) can power a 17 inch LCD panel (SXGA;1280X1024 ), compared to ten typically used today.
The LCD display power consumption will decrease and its overall price is expected to drop using the new chip.

In other chip news, Samsung also announced the industry's first Ultra-Fast GDDR4 Graphics DRAM.
The GDDR4 (Graphics Double Data Rate 4th Generation) memory processes gaming and video images at 2.5 gigabits per second (Gbps).
