I guess in an attempt to further improve the image of the BMW iDrive user interface, BMW is offering a free downloadable media player with iDrive user interface.
The BMW iDrive knob UI was very controversaly discussed when it was introduced a couple years ago. Now I think most poeple are actually fine with it.
The German BMW site released in November desktop media player with the iDrive user interface, featuring access to 3,000 Internet radio stations, Audio CD and mp3 player and MP3 recording.
I have downloaded the BMW player and it works pretty decent. Of course it is only interesting for people who are into Beamers.
Update 07/18/07:
The BMW player software is not available anymore.
Another cool free software from Europe we reported about recently is the ORF Ski Racing Game.
The Donn Handicap may not be what it used to be, and it's certainly debatable whether it remains a legitimate Grade 1. But it sure was a great betting race...and isn't that, in fact, the most important thing? I'd take this race over those five horse true ...
