How cool is that? Vodafone announces a global Mobile TV service enabling for instance Europeans to watch HBO on their 3G mobile phone.
Hit series Sex and the City, Six Feet Under or Curb Your Enthusiasm will be available on Vodafone Live! globally. Beside HBO, Vodafone also offers Eurosport, Twentieth Century Fox Television, The UEFA Champions League, Discovery, MTV, Chilli TV and Fashion TV in countries like New Zealand or UK.
I hope they actually broadcast HBO content in original language and not dubbed. If they do the whole thing becomes uncool
immediately.
The globally sourced TV content, which works on any Vodafone live! with 3G enabled handset, will complement the existing domestic Mobile TV offerings already available in eight of Vodafone's operating countries - Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain and the UK - three associate networks - Belgium, France and Switzerland - and one partner network - Austria.
More details in this Vodafone press-release (Thanks Larry R.).
