Honda introduced an updated ASIMO humanoid robot. The new ASIMO can run 6km/h fast.
Honda published several videos online to watch ASIMO run, turn on the spot, pushing a cart or carrying a tray. The videos are fun to watch. A running ASIMO is actually even more fun as seeing ASIMO doing the Hula.
Besides running the new Honda ASIMO can act in sync with people, carry objects, automatically perform the tasks of a receptionist or information guide, carry out delivery services.
ASIMO is 130cm tall and weighs 54kg (he is overweight ;) )
More details in this Honda press-release.
I4U News first ASIMO story is from 2003.
