Not too long ago I replaced my aging single core Acer Laptop with a new dual-core MacBook. With the much smaller size of the MacBook, I began looking for smaller, more compact accessories to go along with it. This led me to Marware’s Sportfolio designed for the 13-inch MacBook. Today we are going to look at the Marware Sportfolio for 13-inch MacBook so read on for more details.
Features & Specifications
The Marware Sportfolio for 13-inch MacBook is available in black or blue colors. The bag we are looking at is the blue color, which actually has more black than blue on the bag. The construction of the Marware Sportfolio for 13-inch MacBook is rugged neoprene on the outside that is strong and cushions the notebook inside well.
The zippers are dual lined for durability and overlapping flaps of neoprene material under each of the main zippers pad the top of the bag and protect the notebook further. Plastic inserts on the front and back of the bag along with edge padding also add additional protection for the notebook. The Marware Sportfolio for 13-inch MacBook also has a pair of padded carry handles and a shoulder strap.
Sportfolio in Use
The Marware Sportfolio for 13-inch MacBook is pretty much full when you slip the MacBook into the bag. There are two additional pockets on the outside that you can use to hold things like a mouse or other small items. Inside the main compartment of the bag is the notebook area that is lined with a soft fabric and another compartment that is suitable for holding your AC adapter.
You should be aware that when you put things like a mouse in the outer or inner pockets the bag gets bulky fast. Really, the Marware Sportfolio for 13-inch MacBook seems more suited to a day on the road where all you need is your notebook. The bag can be carried as a folio with the bottom and half of both sides of the bag covered in a grippy rubberized neoprene that offers fantastic grip.
The bag itself is very well built with zippers that stand up well to overstuffing and lots of normal wear and tear. The shoulder strap is made from a strong seat belt-like material and has a well-padded neoprene cushion covered with the grippy rubberized neoprene on the back. The shoulder strap is removable and the Marware Sportfolio for 13-inch MacBook fits snuggly enough without the strap to be used as a notebook sleeve inside a larger backpack or suitcase.
Pros
Cons
Verdict
The Marware Sportfolio for 13-inch MacBook is a very well built bag. Those who like to travel with a minimum of extra crap will love this notebook bag. While the Marware Sportfolio for 13-inch MacBook is designed and aimed at MacBook users, any small notebook should fit inside it with ease. The bag also makes a great notebook sleeve for use inside another bag.
