Sony lets Samsung be first to market with a Blu-ray Disc Player in the United States.
The Samsung BD-1000 Blu-ray Disc player will ship early Spring. Sony's BDP-S1 will ship early Summer.
The Sony BDP-S1 features 1080p full HD video output of course, but also DVD upscaling to 1080p.
And that is about all, Sony says in it's press-release about the BDP-S1. No pricing
information available yet.
Sony will also offer a Blu-ray disc aftermarket drive for PC later this year. In Spring Sony will start selling Blu-ray media.
