Sony launches a Franz Ferdinand branded NW-A1000 6GB MP3 Player in Japan.
Looks like the British band is also hot in Japan, else Sony would not issue a special edition mp3 player. Apparently Franz Ferdinand is visiting Japan in February. To mark that
occasion Sony sells 200 of these black NW-A1000 players on two special sales days only. They feature the band on the backside and the Franz Ferdinand logo on the front. Sony sells the player for 33,000 yen (~$286).
Franz Ferdinand also recorded a special message for the lucky owner of this NW-A1000.
More details in this Sony Style press-release (Japanese). Via AkihabaraNews. See also the
official Franz Ferdinand site.
The Sony NW-A1000 mp3 players are still not selling in the United States. They are on the market in Europe and Asia.
