Valentine’s Day is coming up fast and if you still need a good gift idea for someone special in your life you might want to consider a digital photo frame. Today we are looking at an Aluratek 11-inch digital photo frame that includes a 1GB memory card. Read the full review for all the details.
Features & Specifications
The Aluratek 11-inch Digital Photo Frame has a large 11-inch TFT true color LCD. The frame includes a 1GB SD card that you can transfer video and images directly from your computer to view on the frame. A built-in speaker allows you to listen to MP3’s on the frame and set up musical slideshows.
The frame has a built-in card reader that supports CF, MS, SD, MMC, and XD format memory cards. Supported file formats include JPEG, MPEG, AVI, MP3, BMP, and WMA. A high speed USB port is also built-in. A wireless remote control is included to allow control of the images and video on the frame.
In Use
The Aluratek 11-inch Digital Photo Frame’s large LCD provides a very nice image. Pictures and video are smooth and colors are bright and realistic. The only bad thing I noticed with the Aluratek 11-inch Digital Photo Frame was that images taken outdoors or in bright light can be washed out at times.
The frame of the Aluratek 11-inch Digital Photo Frame is made from real wood. The color is a sort of natural looking oak or cherry. It’s nice to see a real wood frame on the Aluratek 11-inch Digital Photo Frame, but the color might not match all room decors.
The Aluratek 11-inch Digital Photo Frame is designed to hand on the wall and it comes with a table stand as well. One interesting feature of the frame is a built-in calendar and you can also program the frame to turn itself off and on. This is very nice if you want to use the frame in a bedroom and the bright display bothers you while trying to sleep.
Video plays well on the Aluratek 11-inch Digital Photo Frame. The speaker provides decent sound, but it won’t impress audiophiles. It is average when compared to the sound from other frames I have tested. The remote is easy to use to control the images on screen and you can rotate images for the correct orientation from the remote as well.
One of the nicest features of the Aluratek 11-inch Digital Photo Frame is the 1GB SD card that is included. This allows you to move images and video from your computer to the frame without having to purchase an additional memory card or move the memory card from your camera to the frame when you want to view images or shoot pictures.
Pros
Cons
Verdict
The Aluratek 11-inch Digital Photo Frame is a fantastic frame with only one issue, some of the brightest images look overexposed on the display. Otherwise the frame has fantastic image quality and video playback is good as well. The large 11-inch screen makes this an excellent digital photo frame form those looking to display images around the 8 x 10 size. You probably aren’t familiar with the Aluratek name, but don’t let that scare you off, this is an excellent product.
