Sony introduces DVD Walkman DVP-FX810 and D-VE7000S in Japan.
Sony takes a hint from their mobile phone business and slaps the Walkman brand on portable DVD players.
The Sony DVP-FX810 (photo below) features an 8 inch screen and a twist and fold design. The battery life is good with 6 hours.
The Sony D-VE7000S is more compact and features a 7 inch screen. Measurements of the D-VE7000S are 193.7×136.3×32.7 mm and the weight is 775g.The success of these new DVD Walkman will be depending on the price. Portable DVD players are just not exciting anymore with HDD based portable media player getting more mainstream.
Both Sony DVD Walkman go on sale on June 1st.
