X-Cybie Robot Dog Shipping This Week

The X-Cybie robot dog is supposed to start shipping this week on May 4th from Amazon.com.

The X-Cybie from Outrageous International is a follow-up model to the I-Cybie robot dog.
The X-Cybie is supposed to have a fur coating in contrast to the I-Cybie. At least that is the word on the I-Cybie forum. There are no photos yet of the X-Cybie available. I gave my best to paint fur - I know I am bad at painting fur.

The cryptic description of the X-Cybie on Amazon.com reads: "X-Cybie Robotic Dog features artificial intelligence and advanced voice recognition. Touch sensors, full robotic motion, life-like animation and responsiveness. Detects walls obstacles edges, movement, sounds, changes in ambient light, and when being petted and stroked. 4lbs; 1400 parts; 90 feet of internal wire; 16 motors."In the post Aibo age, any new robot dog is wellcome.
The X-Cybie sells for $149.99 on Amazon.com. You get a free toy worth max. $19.99 with this coupon TYRTUFREETOY.

Eric a member of i-cybie.net and the owner of aboutbots ask me to mention a Online Petition To Get Hasbro To Release The Source Code To Make i-Cybie Open Source.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
