Guild Wars Creator NCsoft signs with Sony

NCSoft signs with Sony an exclusive game development agreement with Sony to develop games for the PSP and PS3.
NCsoft is known for its highly successful online game products such as the Guild Wars and City of Heroes brands and its flagship product Lineage, which has a customer reach of more than 70 million worldwide.
Both companies did not detail any of the upcoming NCSoft games. NCsoft officials did say that the games would be created from both existing intellectual properties (IP) owned by NCsoft, as well as new IP.

Sony announces mobile phone integrations for Playstation Home at the E3 2007.
Sony is offering mobile phone access to the social and communication features of Playstation Home. You can also directly upload photos taken from your mobile phone into your space on Playstation Home.
Sony is establishing the 3D world as the integration point for all things. You will be able to launch your games from within Playstation Home.

The new Sony PSP is 30% lighter and slimmer than the original PSP. The killer feature of the new PSP is TV OUT, a feature many of you asked since a long time.
You can now play videos or games from the new Sony PSP on HDTVs.

Nintendo takes Wii Sports to the next level with Wii Fit.
Wii Fit is a sensor mat called the Wii Balance Board combined with exercise software. The Wii Fit mat measures your movements and senses if you are doing the exercises right.

Nintendo announces Mario Kart for Wii and Wii Wheel

Nintendo announced at their E3 2007 press event (still going on, watch here)Mario Kart for Wii and the Wii Wheel.
Mario Kart for Wii will feature online gaming. Nintendo's Reggie did not reveal how many players can drive against each other online.
Mario Kart for Wii is not coming this Holiday season. It will be released in early 2008.

E3 Media & Business Summit, E3 or E3 Expo?

Today the E3 Media & Business Summit 2007 opens in LA. This is the new down-sized (and fun reduced) E3 video game trade-show.
Some press-releases I read even call it still the Electronic and Entertainment Expo. Most media outlets dropped the Media & Business Summit part and just call it E3. We will do the same thing from now on and just refer to it as E3 2007.

Sega introduces Game Line-up for E3 2007

SEGA announced its line-up for the E3 2007 show in LA. The video game maker will debut 13 titles developed for the Wii system from Nintendo, the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, and PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system.
Highlights of new SEGA games include: Bleach for Wii, The Club and The Golden Compass.

EA announces Game Line-up for E3 2007

Electronic Arts announces a long list of new video games the company will show at the E3 2007 in LA, that start officially today.
"In the next six months, EA will launch the most exciting line up of games in our 25 year history," said EA Games Label President Frank Gibeau. "We're publishing brand new games like Boogie, Skate and Army of Two, introducing Rock Band and The Simpsons and delivering innovations in blockbuster franchises like Medal of Honor and Need for Speed."

E3: MS introduces Pink and Blue Xbox 360 Controllers

If Microsoft would not have the hyper successful Halo franchise on their hands, they would not have any highlights to announce at the E3 as it seems. Ok, they did announce a ton of Xbox 360 games for this holiday season, which should make lots of gamers happy.
Besides the Xbox 360 Messenger Kit, which was already announced in April, Microsoft introduced a pink and a dark blue Wireless Xbox 360 controller. Why would we need a pink and a blue controller? Of course these are for babies - blue for boys and pink for girls. You cannot start early enough playing video games.
