SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone to be demonstrated at Macworld 2009

Sling Media, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of EchoStar Corporation, is demonstrating a version of SlingPlayer Mobile for the Apple iPhone at the Macworld 2009.
Sling Media will deliver a version of SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone to Apple for certification in Q1 2009.
Sling Media is also unveiling a prototype of the new SlingPlayer for Mac HD which allows Slingbox PRO-HD users to stream HD content to their Mac desktop or laptop computer. The new SlingPlayer for Mac HD is a web-based version of the SlingPlayer software that will be accessible from Sling.com, Sling Media’s recently launched video entertainment web site.

Macworld 2009 Rumor: AT&T to announce iPhone tethering Plan

The Apple keynote at the Macword 2009 is only 11 hours away and the last minute Macworld 2009 rumors are flying around.
One new rumor is about a current weak point of the iPhone 3G. Currently you cannot use (officially) the iPhone 3G as modem to get your notebook online. TUAW says that they heard that AT&T is finally announcing a iPhone tethering plan at the Macworld 2009.

Microvision Shows Pre-Production Pico Projector at MacWorld

Steve Jobs may not be on hand at MacWorld this year, but Microvision will be with a pre-production version of its cool Pico Projector. The company says that the projector that it will show at MacWorld is 25% smaller than its previous SHOW prototype.
The new version is called SHOW WX and can display DVD quality video at screen sizes up to 100-inches across. The projector can also show images as small as 6-inches across. The new case is 118 x 60 x 14-mm, about the size of a mobile phone. Read more

ZAGG goes from InvisibleShield to ZAGGaudio Gadgets at Macworld and CES

ZAGG, known for their InvisibleShield protection gear is expanding their product offering to audio products under the ZAGGaudio line. The company will exhibit the new products at the Macword 2009 and the CES 2009.
The initial ZAGGaudio products include Z.buds in-ear headphones, which have already been honored with the coveted CES Innovations 2009 award for their design and sound.

Top 10 Rumors for Macworld 2009

As for every Macworld the rumor mills run red hot. This year it feels a bit calmer though. Still there are enough rumors floating around on what Apple will be introducing at the Macworld that Fortune Magazine created the top 10 Macworld 2009 rumors.
The rumors include of course Snow Leopard release date, 17 inch unibody MacBook Pro, new iWork, 32GB iPhone and new iMac.

Macworld 2009 Rumor: 17 inch Unibody Apple MacBook Pro coming

The top end 17 inch MacBook Pro did not get updated last fall with the new cool unibody casing. That makes it a pretty safe bet of being introduced at the Macworld 2009 on Tuesday in the Apple keynote.
9 to 5 Mac reports now that the new 17 inch MacBook Pro would have a slim battery pack that will not be removable.
Integrated battery packs are a controversial thing, as many users do not like to the idea of having to send in their notebook to replace a dead battery.

Sneak Peeks from Macworld 2009

Despite Steve Jobs not attending Macworld 2009, the hype and interest is still unbroken. Like every year Apple fans try to sneak into the Moscone Center in San Francisco to land a spy shot of a banner or anything that could point to a new product Apple is going to announce on Tuesday.
AppleInsider published a couple photos of banners from the Macworld 2009 that are covered by white blankets. It must be a real challenge to setup a trade-show without revealing anything during the setup.

Macworld 2009 Rumor: Apple Mac mini has Mini DisplayPort and Mini DVI Port

As reported a new Apple Mac mini is rumored to debut at the Macworld 2009.
Apple Insider reports now that their sources claim that the new Mac mini would sport a Mini DisplayPort connector and a Mini DVI connector. This would enable users of the tiny Mac mini to operate two displays at the same time opening up new applications for the Apple's smallest computer.

iPhone nano Rumor alive again before MacWorld 2009

Now that the Macworld 2009 is just a couple of weeks away all kinds of Apple product related rumors are floating around again. One of my favorite is the iPhone nano rumor, as I really would like to have a smaller iPhone that fits nicely in my jeans front pocket.
The iPhone nano rumor started even before Apple introduced the first iPhone. Now according to MacRumors case manufacturer XSKN added an iPhone nano category to their website. XSKN has a reputation of releasing information about new cases before Apple actually announces new products. The company sold iPhone 3G cases before the announcement by Apple and also showed cases of the unreleased latest iPod nano.

OpenCL and Apple a Love Story to take Center Stage at MacWorld 2009?

More and more rumors point towards a big showing of OpenCL at the MacWorld 2009 from Apple. We already reported that rumors point towards an early release of OS X Snow Leopard supporting OpenCL.
With OpenCL the NVIDIA GPU can be used in parallel to the CPU offering possibly dramatic performance increases.
New rumors point to iMac and Mac mini updates that bring NVIDIA GPUs to these systems.
