Go Daddy Super Bowl 2009 Ads beat Records
Topic: Super Bowl 2009
The Go Daddy Super Bowl 2009 Ads were fun, but not over the top and also not that sexy. Still GoDaddy reports that they reached another online order record. Total orders to Go Daddy were up over last year’s Super Bowl record, coming in at 110% of the 2008 results. Update: TiVo Super Bowl 2009 Statistics ranks GoDaddy Enhanced Ad as Number One.
Last year GoDaddy released the number of hits to their site. They got an impressive 2 million hits for the whole Sunday, because viewers wanted to see Danica Patrick’s Beaver.
I guess they did not break this record with their Super Bowl 2009 ads, but they did a better job converting the traffic into orders.

TiVo Super Bowl 2009 Ad Ratings see GoDaddy on Top
Topic: Super Bowl 2009
Ad critics will hate this one. TiVo just announced their Super Bowl 2009 Ad statistics and a GoDaddy Super Bowl 2009 commercial took the number one spot.
TiVo bases its Super Bowl rankings on the behavior of TiVo users. Basically the most rewound and watched again Super Bowl ads win.
Apparently GoDaddy got lucky with their last minute 2nd Super Bowl ad spot purchase, because the late ad actually got ranked #1. GoDaddy's "Enhanced?" ad is the winner of the TiVo Super Bowl rankings and not the Shower Ad.

Topic: Super Bowl 2009
USA Today published their 21st annual Super Bowl Ad Meter results with a surprise winner.

Doritos now has to pay $1 million instead of $25,000 as the company raised the stakes. Doritos said they would pay $1 million as prize money if a Doritos ad hits the #1 spot in the USA Today Ad Meter rankings and Free Doritos did.

3D Super Bowl Ads disappointing, next Chance Chuck
Topic: Super Bowl 2009
The excitement and hunt for the 3D Super Bowl glasses to watch the first 3D Super Bowl ads was huge. Now that the Super Bowl 43 is over the 3D ads are not the most talked about commercials. The verdict around the web so far is that the 3D effect of Monsters vs. Aliens and the 3D SoBe ad was too weak.
The expectations have been to high I guess. As highlighted in our 3D Home theater report, the glasses are just a tease for currently available 3D technology at home and in cinemas.
There is better 3D technology for the living room already on the market with shutter glasses and of course the 3D experience in digital cinemas is way superior.
Still if the tease with the 3D Super Bowl glasses is not generating more interest in 3D, then we again do not get 3D content from the studios.
I think the real test of these new ColorCode 3D glasses is tonight when the full episode of Chuck airs.

Vizio Super Bowl Ad and $1 Million in HDTVs Give Away
Topic: Super Bowl 2009
"America’s HDTV Company" VIZIO ran a Super Bowl 2009 Commercial. VIZIO was the #1 selling flat panel HDTVs in North America in 2007. 2008 was a different story, but it looks like VIZIO really wants its position back in 2009 with new technology platforms and aggressive marketing.
VIZIO’s Super Bowl 2009 TV spot named "10:30" was developed, written, produced and delivered in less than a 72 hours prior to air-time during Super Bowl - that is the reason why it was boring. The important thing here is that VIZIO ran a Super Bowl Ad and not if it was good or bad.
To make up for the boring ad, VIZIO is running a huge Give Away of HDTVs worth $1 million.
To enter you just have to sign up and tell your VIZIO story. VIZIO will be announcing weekly winners, which will be selected at random. First winners will be chosen the week of Feb 23rd.

CEA says Super Bowl 2009 drove 2.6 Million HDTV Sales
Topic: Super Bowl 2009
The biggest football game of the year has come and gone with the Steelers taking the Super Bowl trophy and sending the Cardinals home with nothing but memories of the franchises first trip to the Super Bowl. The best way to watch the Super Bowl was certainly on a nice HDTV and according to the CEA, the game drove some significant sales of TVs.
The big game was expected to drive about 2.6 million HDTV sales as people geared up to watch in HD. Despite the poor economy, the CEA says that it expects 2009 to be another big year for HDTV sales with 29.8 million HDTVs expected to ship. Read more

Super Bowl Interrupted with Porn Clip in Tucson
Topic: Super Bowl 2009
Millions of watchers tuned into the Super Bowl yesterday to watch the game and check out the famous commercials and half time show. Some viewers in Tucson, Arizona who were watching the game on Comcast cable's SD feed saw a bit more than they had wanted to see.
According to the local NBC affiliate in the area, the SD signal was hacked and a ten-second porn clip was inserted into the feed. The station received hoards of complaints from families who were watching the game and saw the clip. Read more

Toyota Tundra Super Bowl 2009 Commerical goes Mad Max on Detroit
Topic: Super Bowl 2009
US carmakers had to endure a menacing commercial from Toyota that presented a Toyota Tundra truck in a Mad Max inspired setting. US carmakers are absent from this year's Super Bowl.
If Toyota would have signed Mel Gibson to drive the Truck up that giant steel heat tunnel construction the ad would have been perfect.
Toyota actually had that construction built for real in the Mojave Desert. The idea is that the Toyota Tundra can bring massive power even under extreme heat. This is of course very important for the 5 people living in a dessert pulling heavy trailers around.

Bud Light Meeting Super Bowl Commercial is best Beer Ad
Topic: Super Bowl 2009
Anheuser-Busch aired several Bud Light Super Bowl ads yesterday. The Bud Light Meeting is beating apparently the Conan O'Brien Bud Light Ad. At least on the Bud Bowl, the votes are very in favor for the Bud Light Meeting ad.
The reasons are understandable though. Who is not dreaming of a workplace where a bowl of ice cold Bud Light bottles is on the conference table during meetings? Meetings would be something to look forward again.
It would even be a better dream with a real beer, but I would take the Bud Light during Meetings.
