The new XDR memory offers high-bandwidth and a low-power design to help designers meet and exceed the power and performance targets for mobile products.

Power consumption in small mobile devices with limited battery capacity is very important. The new Mobile XDR architecture can achieve over 17GB/s of memory bandwidth from a single Mobile XDR DRAM device. At the same time, the new memory design promises to extend the battery life of some mobile products as much as 30 minutes. Read more

Here's a cool one. SilverStone has put together a very different sort of hard drive. It is called the HDDBoost (SlashGear) and (the company claims) it can boost HDD performance by up to 70%. It allows users to connect any 2.5" SSD to any 3.5" HDD. The drive creates a mirror of the front end data of the HDD and puts it on the SSD, which allows your computer to access those files much faster.

The drive has platters with 500GB per platter and can store up to 880 hours of DVD video or over 500,000 MP3 songs. The large platter capacity allows the drive to support the 2TB capacity with four disks.

Less discs means less power consumed and faster data access. The F3EG drive uses the Samsung EcoTriangle technology providing low-power and low-noise operation. Samsung uses green tech in the construction of the HDD with no halogen compounds or BFRs used in the construction of the drive. Read more
