A few minutes ago I sat through demos from Eidos showing of two of their new game titles, one was Age of Conan and the other game title was Kane & Lynch. Lots of game play for the PC DirectX 9 version was shown off for Age of Conan, and the game looked fantastic in DirectX 9 form.

There was not a demo available for the DirectX 10 PC version of the game (due out on October 30), but the graphics on the DirectX 9 PC version are promised to be identical to the graphics that show up on gaming consoles for the title. The game is massive and has 185 square miles of various terrain types for you to explore alone or in a group. The developers say that they have tweaked the game with enough play options that those with a large group available can have large party adventures and a lone player with only a few hours can play and progress in single payer mode.

Kane & Lynch is a very cool looking game and should be a very good title on console platforms. The game allows for single player play, and split screen multi-player play. The several levels that they were showing during the demo looked great. The demo I saw was on an Xbox 360 and the commands to control the party and shooting aspects of the game were very simple and designed, as the developer put it, to not make you think so you can stay emotionally involved in the game.

I am all for simple controls on games, having to remember tons of button commands to command your party or fight makes for steep learning curves on some titles. Graphically the game looks fantastic and the game play was intense. This is one console title I will be looking forward to getting my hands on for some serious play time.
