Shuttle is well known as purveyors of some of the smallest computers on the market to the point that the name is almost synonymous with SFF computing. Today they announced a new SFF system in Germany that is intended for use as a media center.
The barebones SG33G5M system is built around the Intel G33 Express chipset and loaded with lots of features. The rig has an HDMI out and ships with a VFD display and a remote. Internal expansion slots include one PCI-E x16 and 1 PCI slot, a gigabit LAN, three SATA ports, and 2 e-SATA ports. Graphics are DX9 via an Intel GMA3100 graphics processor. Power is provided by a 250W SilentX PSU.
Supported CPUs include Intel Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo E6000/E4000 series, Pentium dual core E2000 and Celeron 400 series processors. The mainboard used can support up to 4GB of DDR2-800 RAM. The HDMI out is HDCP compliant so you can use the system to playback HD content from HD DVD or Blu-ray. Sound is via 7.1 HD audio chip and supports Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect. The price for the barebones kit is 320 Euros or about $453 here in the states. Via Shuttle
