Digital picture frames are getting larger all the time and PhotoVu has just announced what they claim to be the world’s first high resolution 19” widescreen wireless digital picture frame.
The PhotoVu PV1965w uses a 16:10 format and carries a price of $1199 for the wireless version with a wired version going for $999. The screen resolution is 1440 x 900 with 24-bit color. The brightness of the screen is 300 cd/m2 with an 800:1 contrast ratio.
No memory cards or flash drives are required with the wireless version since it supports 802.11b WiFi along with WEP 64/128bit. With the wireless connection you can display photos from iPhoto, flickr, Picasa and SmugMug directly from the Internet.
While the frame is WiFi enabled you can display images from USB drives as well. The dimensions of the screen minus the frame are 14” x 21”. The frame also resizes images on the fly to fit the display resolution. You can also connect the frame to the web via Ethernet if wireless doesn’t work in your environment. via PhotoVu
