Panasonic Introduces 8GB SDHC Memory Card

The card is model RP-SDV08GU1K and is due to hit market in September with an MSRP of $159.99. The 8GB version joins the line of Pro SD cards already offered by Panasonic in 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB capacities.
The new 8GB SDHC card meets class 6 speed specifications with a minimum speed of 6MB/s. This much storage capacity means that a camcorder recording in AVCHD normal mode can save two hours of video and about 3080 high resolution pictures.
In Mpeg-4 AVC/H.264 fine mode the card can store 80 minutes of video, normal mode will store 120 min of video and economy mode will store 180 min of video. The card can store 3080 10mp 3648 x 2736 images in fine mode. Data transfer rate is up to 20MB/s. Via Panasonic
