AT&T announced the launch of an over-the-air music download service with eMusic.
The AT&T eMusic over-the-air (OTA) service will allow you to preview and buy music on your mobile phone. The eMusic catalog is 2.7m titles strong.
Songs purchased from eMusic Mobile are immediately sent to the user's wireless handset, and a duplicate copy is available for download to the user's PC at no charge.
AT&T customers can subscribe to download 5 tracks a month for $7.49, and additional packages of 5 songs are available for the same price whenever desired.
A song costs you about $1.50 with the AT&T OTA eMusic service. Price would ok, but that you have to subscribe to it and need to buy 5 songs per month to make sure you use up the package is disappointing.
eMusic Mobile will be initially available on the Samsung a717, a727, new versions of the Samsung SYNC and the Nokia N75.
eMusic Mobile is of course not available on the Apple iPhone - for obvious reasons.
