Apple says that their iTunes music service tops 3 billion downloaded songs.
"We’d like to thank all of our customers who have contributed to this incredible milestone," said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes.
3 billion is an incredible number. It does not matter what you sell 3 billion times, you will make a buck or two.
The Apple iTunes store recently surpassed both Amazon and Target to become the third largest music retailer in the US.
Despite the iTunes news, the Apple stock is down today, because of some chatter that the iPhone production is going to be cut back by half. See this report on The Street.
