Alltel Wireless announced today that they are the first North American cellular carriers to offer the Huawei data cards for PC. The Huawei EC360 data card can download data at up to 2.4 Mbps and works with Windows XP, 2000 and Vista.
The card is an older PCMCIA Type II card and measures in at 4.7” x 2.1” x 0.4”. The technology used is EVDO, 1xRtt with CDMA frequencies 800/1900 MHz. A hinged antenna flips up to give better reception.
Alltell lists the price for the Huawei EC360 at $189.99 with a $140 instant discount and a $50 mail in rebate. The pricing requires a two year commitment to a data plan of $59.99 or higher.
"The relationship with Huawei is another example of Alltel's commitment to find the best technologies and products available for our customers," said Wade McGill, senior vice president of wireless products and services for Alltel Wireless. "We are proud to introduce Huawei's PC data card product to the North American wireless consumer, and we know that our customers will enjoy the fast downloads that the card will provide." Via Alltel
