Since Onkyo is a high-end maker of electronics, you probably won’t be surprised to hear that the Onkyo DV-HD805 will sell for $900. Set to be available this fall, the player has an Ethernet port for connecting online for extra features.
HDMI 1.3 is included and the player supports 24 fps 1080p video, Deep color, and Dolby TrueHD as well as DTS-HD Master Audio bitstream passthrough.
Onkyo is talking up the HQV Reon VX video processor as the reason to pay $400 more than some competitive offerings, claiming superior DVD upscaling and HD deinterlacing. Seems expensive to me, but serious home theater buffs are probably drooling right now. Via Crave
