German Volkswagen will present the Golf BlueMotion besides 5 more BlueMotion cars at the IAA 2007 in Frankfurt.
German car makers currently focus on low consumption diesel cars to address the green market.
The Golf BlueMotion only needs 4.5l diesel per 100km. This translates into about 52MPG.
The CO2 emission just lies at 119g/km. With one tank of gas the Golf Bluemotion can reach 1,200km (~$745 miles).
The engine inside the fuel saving Golf is the TDI with 77kW/105hp.
The low consumption is achieved through aero dynamic optimization, software motor management and special rims.
The new Golf BlueMotion will go on sale in Germany end of this year.
