Canon announced today a new entry in their PowerShot A-series digital cameras. The new Canon A650 IS tops the line with 12.1MP resolution.

Features of the Canon A650 IS include 6x optical zoom with optical image stabilization (OIS), 21 shooting modes including Kids & Pets, Manual, Aperture-Priority, Shutter-Priority, 2.5-inch Vari-Angle LCD screen and ergonomic grip. The Canon PowerShot A650 IS camera kit includes four AA batteries, 32MB SD memory card, USB interface cable, AV cable, wrist strap and Canon's software suite.

The Canon PowerShot A650 IS has an MSRP of $399.99 and is supposed to be available in September.
