Just in time of the GC 2007 Microsoft announces a price-cut for the Xbox 360 also in Europe. The show starts in 3 days, so the announcement comes a bit early. This leaves room for more announcements from Microsoft at the GC 2007 in Leipzig.
Starting on August 24th the Xbox 360 Premium (with 20GB HDD) will sell for 349 Euro (was 399). The Xbox 360 Core will sell for 279 Euro (was 295).
On August 24th the Xbox 360 Elite will also start to ship for 449 Euro.
Microsoft sees the price-cut as being substantial enough to say that this will open the world of Xbox 360 gaming to consumers on a small budget.
Microsoft highlights the following games that will be available this fall on the Xbox 360: Halo 3 (Bungie), Scene It? (Microsoft Game Studios), Bioshock (2k Games), Project Gotham Racing 4 (Bizarre Creations), Mass Effect
(BioWare), Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation (Bandai/Namco) and Blue Dragon (Mistwalker/Artoon Co. Ltd).
The press release does not say anything about HDMI on the Xbox 360 Premium console. Of course MS talks up the HDMI port on the expensive Xbox 360 Elite.
