Epson Launches Stylus R280 and RX595, RX680 All-in-Ones

Canon introduced a bevy of printers yesterday and not to be outdone Epson is announcing three new Ultra High-Definition printers today. The first of the trio of new Epson products is the Epson Stylus Photo R280 Printer. The R280 uses the Epson Claria Hi-Definition Ink and can print directly to CD/DVD. Epson lists a print speed as fast as 11 seconds for borderless 4x6 prints and text pages print at up to 38ppm. Prints up to 8.5” x 11” can be made with the printer. The R280 will be available in September for $99.99. The R280 uses six individual ink tanks.
The next new printer is the Epson RX595 Photo All-in-One printer, which prints, scans, and copies. A 2.5” LCD and card reader slots allow you to edit pictures without a PC. The RX595 also uses the Epson Claria HD inks. Epson says the RX595 can print a borderless 4x6 print in 11 seconds, prints text pages at up to 38ppm, and copies at up to 37 cpm. The photo correction capabilities include fixing poor backlighting and washed out photos, face detection, image sharpening and red-eye removal. The printer can print directly to CD/DVD as well. The scanner has 1200 x 2400 dpi resolution. The RX595 will be available in September at $149.99. The RX595 uses six individual ink tanks.
The last of the new Epson printers is the Epson RX680 Photo All-in-One. The RX680 uses the same Claria HD inks and can also print 4x6 borderless images in as fast as 11 seconds and is able to print text at up to 40ppm and copy at up to 40 cpm. The RX680 uses six individual ink tanks to allow replacement of only the color needed. Bluetooth connectivity is optional as well. The scanner has 48-bit color and a 1200 x 2400 dpi resolution. You can buy the RX680 in September for $199.99.
