Toshiba announces two new Gigabeat portable media players with the T401 and T401s.
The Toshiba Gigabeat T401 features Wi-Fi connectivity. Toshiba managed to make the new Gigabeat player quite thin at 9.9mm.
Other features of the T401 include a 2.4 inch QVGA screen, 4GB flash memory, H2C sound technology, MP3 and WMA audio support and USB connectivity.
The Toshiba T401 actually runs Windows Mobile and synchronizes directly with Windows Media Player 11.
Measurements of the Toshiba T401 are 54x85.6x9.9mm and the weight is 58g.
The Toshiba Gigabeat T401s has all the features of the T401, but lacks WiFi.
Toshiba will only offer the T401 in black starting in October. The Toshiba T401s will be available in black, white and red and start shipping in September in Japan.
Since Toshiba is Microsoft's hardware partner for the Zune, the new T401 series could indicate the next generation of Zune players.
