Apple iPhone unlocking Software still held back

The hackers who claimed to have a clean iPhone unlocking software have still not released the software to the public.
One hacker sold his unlocking solution to a mobile phone refurbisher for a sports car.
An annonymous group offers $100,000 for releasing the Apple unlocking software to the public.

The pressure is building and it's just a matter of days now until the iPhone unlocking software will be available. Business Week has a report saying that AT&T and Apple will face an uphill battle against unlocked iPhones.

I am still waiting for the big surprise from Apple. I cannot imagine that they did not anticipate that developers will spend their summer trying to find a way to use the iPhone with any carrier. Considering that the exclusivity is part of Apple's business model for the iPhone, they need to protect it. This topic remains red hot.
