Harmon Kardon is introducing a new home theater package called the Cinespecial 29 that combines their 7.1 channel AVR 350 receiver with the Harmon Kardon DVD 29 DVD player.
The receiver has dual HDMI 1.2a inputs, which can pass through signals up to 1080p and process the audio signals. The DCDi is by Faroudja and enables upscaling of analog S-video or composite video signals to 720p via HDMI.
The DVD 29 is an ultraflat design and can play back DVD-Audio in addition to all current video and audio formats. HDMI output and an upscaler allows for video upscaling to 720p or 1080i. The Cinespecial 29 will be available in October 2007 at an undisclosed price.
