Philips rolled out a new remote control at CEDIA this week called the SRM7500. This remote was designed for Windows Vista powered media center computers. The remote can control Vista’s media center functionality along with five other devices.
The remote also supports basic Windows SideShow features that allow users to browse and play music, pictures and programming guides on the remotes LCD screen.
The remote’s display is a bright six-line unit and the remote uses two-way RF technology. “When consumers purchase the latest home entertainment devices, they immediately expect that the user experience will match the high-quality audio and visual features that new technologies bring," said Xavier Delmeiren, General Manager Home Controls, Philips Consumer Electronics. "The SRM7500 has been designed to provide seamless access to all audio and visual content through one single remote while making the most of the multimedia capabilities of new Windows Vista-powered Media Center PCs." The SRM7500 will be available in October for $199.99.
