Sony Electronics unveiled two full high-definition 1080p BRAVIA projectors at the CEDIA 2007 Expo, the VPL-VW200 and VPL-VW60 .
The high-end VPL-VW200 ($15k) features 24p True Cinema technology, new high frame rate SXRD (120 FPS) panels and 35,000:1 contrast ratio.
Other features of the VPL-VW200 include Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tesar lens with 1.8x zoom, supports x.v.Color technology via HDMI, pure Xenon lamp, Ethernet input, external anamorphic lens support, -digital video signal processing via the BRAVIA Engine and a low fan noise of 22dB.
The VPL-VW60 only costs a third of the VPL-VW200. The differences lie mostly in the lower SXRD frame-rate and lack of Ethernet port. I guess there are more differences, but the press-release does not point them out specifically.
The Sony VPL-VW200 projector will be available in October for about $15,000, while the VPL-VW60 unit will be available in September for about $5,000.
