We can assume that the iPhone price drop helped Apple reach the milestone it is bragging about today. Apple announced it has sold its one millionth iPhone.
Apple says that it took 74 days to sell 1 million iPhones and that it took them 2-years to sell 1 million iPods. "One million iPhones in 74 days-it took almost two years to achieve this milestone with iPod," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "We can't wait to get this revolutionary product into the hands of even more customers this holiday season."
With the rumors floating around that a 16GB iPhone with 3G is set to hit Europe with the iPhone launch there, perhaps iPhone fans in America might see 3G and more storage this year as well. With apple giving consumers a $100 credit after the iPhone price drop, if they whip out an even better model in the next few months I can’t help but wonder if current iPhone owners will expect a similar refund.
This news will shut up critics that interpreted the iPhone price-cut as a sign of weakness.
