Fujitsu today introduced the world’s first PC mouse that features built-in palm vein authentication. The mouse uses technology from both Fujitsu and Frontech Limited and is also available as a stand alone palm vein authentication unit.
The PalmSecure Pc Login Kit includes login-authentication software, which has a greater fault tolerance for the angle the hand is at when the authenticator is used. Fujitsu says that the PalmSecure mouse can easily replace an existing mouse.
The mouse and the login kit are both available in black, white, and gray to match office environments and computers. Fujitsu says they intend to sell 200,000 PalmSecure login kits and mice globally. Pricing and availability are unknown at this time.
