Nature is still able to amaze us again and again. A Bar Tailed Godwit is the first tagged bird to fly 7,145 miles (11,500km) without a break.
Scientists in New Zealand tagged bar-tailed godwits with transmitters to track their migration. The found out that these birds do not need refueling or resting. The bird is breeding in Alaska. The round-trip distance is 18,640 miles (30,000km).
The other amazing thing is that the young Tailed Godwit have to find their way from Alaska to New Zealand by themselves.
