Duracell announces Pre-Charged Rechargeable batteries.
The nickel metal hydride (NiMH) cells come charged and ready to use straight out of the pack. This new rechargeable technology retains power for up to 365 days while not in use.
Pre-charged rechargeable batteries have been available from Sanyo under the eneloop name since 2005. Duracell is really late to the game here.
A pre-charged rechargeable battery that holds it charge for long time when not used is a great thing. Looks like Duracell had a hard time getting the technology right.
Available at mass, drug, grocery and specialty stores nationwide beginning in September 2007, Duracell Pre-Charged Rechargeable will have a suggested retail price of $12.99 for a four-pack.
Via the Duracell site. See eneloop Batteries offers here.
