Corsair announced today that they are the first official licensee for Intel’s DDR3 Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) specification. Corsair says the certification will apply to its latest DDR3 modules.

Last week, OCZ announced DDR3 modules that are XMP capable. I’m not sure of the details on being an official licensee, but OCZ beat them to the punch with XMP modules.

Corsair’s DDR3 modules with the technology will be available in Dominator 1800MHz trim for $599, 4GB 1600MHz XMS3 DHX kit will run $899, and a 2GB 1600MHz kit will run $499.
