New Fingerprint Mobile Phone Touchpad Technology

Atrua Technologies, a silicon valley start-up with backing of Ericsson, Nokia and Intel announced a new versatile touchpad for mobile devices.
The "Atrua Wings" product has a touchpad that works similar to the ones on notebooks. The sensor driving the touchpad also acts as a fingerprint reader for secure biometric access to the phone.
The first mobile phones with Atrua's touchpad should arrive end of 2004. More Details in Press-Release on Reuters UK.
