The 3GSM Show 2004 in Cannes is over. The mobile phone industry seems to be in
good spirits and 3G disaster might finally be forgotten.
We reported about several new exciting mobile phones announced at the show.
Nokia introduced their new Communicator
9500 with built-in Wi-fi. Wi-fi enabled Smart-phones is definitely a new
trend for 2004. I suspect more phones coming out with Wi-fi network capability.
Motorola has also announced a Wi-Fi Smart phone at the 3GSM show. The Motorola
MPx powered by Microsoft Mobile OS goes straight against the Nokia 9500
powered by Symbian OS.
Motorola introduced also two 3G handsets. The A1000
and E1000 3G Smart phones functions such as Word, Excel, video
conferencing and Powerpoint.
Philips introduced a couple of interesting consumer oriented phones. The Philips
759 and 755 Camera Phones feature a touch sensitive screen that allows users
to scribble messages on photos to personalize multi-media messages. The phones
also feature BeDJ a music mixing software. Sendo showed also some new phones
including the S600 Camera Phone
with 5x Zoom.
On the topic of mobile phone future, Panasonic showed a Holograph
Viewer Mobile Phone. On the lighter side of things, 3GSM also featured a Gadget
Fashion Show.
