SunPower announced today that it would build an 18-megawatt solar power plant in Spain. The plant will be built in the Badajoz region of Spain and is expected to generate more than 32 million kilowatt hours of power per year.

SunPower will utilize its new proprietary T20 tracker solar tracking system as well to track the sun as it moves across the sky, generating up to 30% more power than fixed tilt systems. Construction of the new power plant is expected to be completed in the spring of 2008.
