800 Apple Retail Employees Fired for Being Greedy

Ars Technica is reporting that Apple has fired about 800 retail store employees for cashing in on the $100 rebate Apple offered for early buyers of the iPhone.
Apple announced shortly after the iPhone was launched that all full-time employees and part-time employees that had been with the company more than one-year would get free iPhones.
Of the employees that received the phones some 800 took the store credit, which reportedly was specifically not available for Apple employees. That’s an extra $80,000 Apple shelled out in rebates to employees that didn’t actually pay for the phone. Dumb asses.
