Microsoft lowers Xbox 360 Price in Japan

Microsoft cut the price of the Xbox 360 in Japan by 13%.
The new low price of 34,800 yen (~$305) will go into effect on November 1st. The new lower priced 40GB Sony PS3 will begin selling for 39,980 yen (~$351) on November 11th.
In the first half of 2007, Microsoft sold only 122,565 units of the Xbox 360 in Japan, compared with 1.78 million units of the Wii and 503,554 units of the PS3 (based on Enterbrain).

In the U.S. we are still waiting for Microsoft to officially announce the low-cost ($279.99) Xbox 360 Arcade. It already showed up in a couple of stores, but it is not a full blown launch yet.
