AT&T begins offering the first globally capable MOTO Q smart phone dubbed Moto Q Global.

The 3G-powered MOTO Q offers downloads at up to 3.6 Mbps via AT&T's UMTS/HSDPA network.
The MOTO Q global provides access to AT&T's BroadbandConnect network in more than 200 major metropolitan areas across the U.S. and coverage outside 3G service areas via AT&T's nationwide(3) EDGE network, the largest national high speed wireless data network in the U.S. The EDGE network is available in more than 13,000 cities and towns and along some 40,000 miles of major highways.
Outside the U.S., AT&T customers can use the MOTO Q global in more than 135 countries to access e-mail and other data applications, to browse the Web, and make or receive phone calls in more than 190 countries -- the largest international wireless footprint of any U.S. carrier.
"The MOTO Q global literally opens up the world to MOTO Q enthusiasts," said Michael Woodward, Business Voice/Data Products, for AT&T's wireless unit. "AT&T and Motorola are teaming up to provide our customers with a world-class device, operating platform, applications and services and network experience that they can take with them around the globe."

Features of the Windows 6 running Moto Q include QWERTY keyboard, built-in GPS, Opera Browser, 2MP camera, Direct Push, and Blackberry Connect, Bluetooth, up to 9 hours of talk and 30 days standby, MicroSD card slot, and speakerphone.

The Moto Q Global sells for $299.99 with 2 year contract on the AT&T site. The press-release talks about a special introductory price of $199.99.
