Nikon announced a new lens for its compatible DSLR cameras recently called the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm VR lens. The lens is a 3x optical zoom and incorporates vibration reduction in an affordable package that will retail for around $199.
Nikon says the lens is ideal for wide-angle landscape shooting and works for moderate telephoto use for portraits as well. The VR technology allows photographers to take images at slower shutter speeds without as much blurring, as you would otherwise get.
The lens is set for availability in December and price will vary depending on the retailer. Nikon says this lens allows first time DSLR owners to shoot in a wider variety of conditions and allows DSLR owners to get into VR technology lenses at a lower cost.
