LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Virgin Comics will partner with CGI-house
Perspective Studios to create new intellectual properties for comics, mobile,
games platforms and movies.
Virgin Comics, which is part of Richard Branson's global empire, recently scored
a cross-media success when its popular "Ramayan 3392 A.D." comic book series was
licensed by Sony Online Entertainment for a new massively multiplayer online (MMO)
role-playing game.
Perspective comes to the partnership after developing a solid reputation in
gaming, providing animation for popular franchises such as Rockstar Games'
"Grand Theft Auto" and Ubisoft's "Ghost Recon." Perspective operates one of the
East Coast's largest and most sophisticated motion-capture facilities, in Glen
Cove, N.Y., and will soon open a new studio in Santa Monica, Calif.
