A story has been making the rounds in technology circles after a man in Korea was reportedly killed when his LG Mobile phone exploded. A coworker of the man who was killed has now come forward and admitted it was a hoax.
The hoaxy part wasn’t that the man was killed, rather that the exploding LG phone caused it. The 33-year-old south Korean who was killed worked in a Quarry and when his dead body was found the LG phone was burning and stuck to his chest. This was initially thought to be the cause of his death.
Kwon Young-sup who discovered the body has now come forward and admitted that he actually ran over the victim with an excavator used at the quarry site while driving in reverse. Kwon says he made the story of the exploding cell phone up to cover up the accident.
