LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Tanner Hall," a never-made UPN pilot set in a girls' boarding school, is finding new life as an indie feature.

Chris Kattan, Amy Sedaris and Tom Everett Scott star in the coming-of-age story, which is being directed by celebrity progeny Tatiana von Furstenberg and Francesca Gregorini.

The duo's script follows four teenage girls who navigate adolescence while the adults in their world -- the parents and teachers -- struggle with their own midlife hurdles.

Von Furstenberg is the daughter of fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg and step-daughter of media mogul Barry Diller, and Gregorini is the daughter of actress Barbara Bach and step-daughter of Ringo Starr.

The two met while attending Brown University, became fast friends and cooked up "Tanner Hall" as a TV series based on their experiences attending boarding schools. UPN picked up the project, but it became a victim of the 2006 UPN-WB merger that created the CW network.

Von Furstenberg and Gregorini took the project back, reworked the script and broadened the scope of the canvas to make the story into a feature. Budgeted at less than $10 million, the film is shooting in Rhode Island.

"Saturday Night Live" veteran Kattan starred in "Undercover Brother" and "Monkeybone." Sedaris was last heard as the voice of Cinderella in "Shrek the Third." Scott's credits include recurring roles in ABC's "Cashmere Mafia" and NBC's "ER."
